President Donald Trump reported that the United States military is using the same missiles to strike Iranian small boats that it has used in the Caribbean to destroy narco-terrorist drug boats.
The United States has been using the APKWS missile, a 1960s-era rocket, to reduce the cost ratio that would be exorbitant if it were using the AGM-114 Hellfire. The cheaper legacy munitions require only the retrofitting of a guidance system, reducing weapons research and development time and expense.
Iran’s speedboats, which the regime calls its “mosquito fleet,” lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz and launches suicide bombing attacks in the Persian Gulf.
